Impact of adding vanadium pentoxide to Mn-doped magnetite for technological uses

Abstract Nanocomposites containing different contributions of vanadium oxide (V 2 O 5 ) and magnetite (Fe 3 4 modified with manganese (Mn) ions were fabricated upon the formula xMn 0.4 Fe 2.6 /(1-x)V 5, whereas x = 0.0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0. The obtained compositions characterized their structure, morphology, besides magnetic susceptibility. TEM micrographs depicted that V was formed as rod shapes diameters 20–30 nm length 450 nm, while Mn–magnetite configured in ellipsoidal dimensions 25–40 nm. Moreover, Maximum height roughness(R t changed from 507.0 to 220.6 skewness (R sk increased 0.104 0.122 for ( 1.0), respectively. Furthermore, Curie Weiss constant (?) 830 890 K then decreased 520 K, 1.0, photo-activated antibacterial activity examined showed inhibition zone significantly by increasing content well it also dark light conditions. It 17.4 ± 1.1 16.9 1.3 mm 19.2 1.4 18.9 1.5 pure =0.0) against E. coli S. aureus , degradation methylene blue (MB) tested, efficiency removal reached around 97.1% highest contribution after 35 min visible exposure. Hence, nanocomposites can be suggested a deep investigation highlighted disinfection water treatment applications.
